Diamond Lace Edging

Finishing:
Block Blanket Top to size (aprox $22^{\prime\prime}\times28^{\prime\prime}$ Block Diamond Lace Edging to match longer side of blanket. Pre-shrink Flannel fabric, and press. Lay Blanket Top ontop of fabric. Cut fabric leaving 1/2 inch around sides of blanket. With CC sew Diamond Lace Edging pieces to longer sides of Blanket Top using matress stitch, being careful to evenly space diamond points along sides of blanket. Lay Blanket Top flat with wrong side up, lay fabric piece ontop of it with right side of fabric facing. Turn all 4 edges of cut fabric under and pin to Blanket with straight pins. Sew in place using sewing needle and matching thread. Using Embroidery needle and CC sew ties through both layers to tack blanket pieces together, spacing ties as desired. Sew ties by passing yarn through flannel side to knit side of blanket and then back through knit side to flannel side, making a 1/4 inch stitch on the knit side of the blanket. Tie ends in a square knot (right over left, left over right). Trim tails to 1/2 inch.
