
Elsa Baby Hat By Michele Bernstein Size: 6 months or so. Babies vary!

Materials: 1 50 gm ball of dk weight yarn (about 125 yards). 1 16" circular needle, and 1 set dp needles, US size 6, or size to achieve gauge. Gauge: 5.5 st/1 inch over stockinette stitch Cast on 72 sts. Join and knit 10 rnds. Place marker at beginning of rnd. Next rnd: P2, K2, P2; then K to end of rnd. Repeat this for an additional 9 rnds (10 rnds total) Bow Pattern (worked over 8 rnds) Work bow pattern over first 6 sts of each rnd, then knit to end of rnd. (You only have to think for the first 6 sts of each round! Marker tells you when to think.) Rnds 1,2,3,4, 6,7,8: P1, K4, P1 Rnd 5 only: P1, sl 2 st to cn and hold to back of work, k2, k2 from cn, P1
Continue after 8 bow rounds:
Next rnd: P2, K2, P2; K to end of rnd. Repeat this rnd until hat measures 5 inches from cast on edge. Knit one more rnd.
Shape Crown
Rnd 1: \*K6, K2 tog, repeat from \* to end of rnd. Change to dpns on Rnd 2, working 3 (K5, k2tog) units onto each of three dpns. Fourth dpn will be your working needle. Rnd 2: $^{\star}\mathsf{K}\mathsf{5}$ , K2 tog, repeat from \* to end Rnd 3: $\star\mathsf{K}4$ , K2 tog, repeat from \* to end Rnd 4: $^{\star}\mathsf{K}3$ , K2 tog, repeat from \* to end Rnd 5: \*K2, K2 tog, repeat from \* to end Rnd 6: \*K1, K2 tog, repeat from \* to end Rnd 7: $^{\star}\mathsf{K}_{2}$ tog, repeat from \* to end Rnd 8: $^{\star}\mathsf{K}_{2}$ tog, K1, repeat from \* to end of round. You should have 6 sts remaining. Break off yarn, draw through remaining 6 loops, and fasten securely. Work in ends. I envision the bow above the ear, but wear it as you like. Enjoy!
