Rnd 6: Ch 1, dc in same dc, dc in next 4 dc, \* dc in the space before next dc, dc in next 5 dc \*, ending with dc in space before first dc. (78 dc) Rnd 7: Ch 1, dcin same dc, dcin next 5 dc, \* dc in the space before next dc, dc in next 6 dc \*, ending with dc in space before first dc. Please note on this round that you will need to work in one additional increase. This is because continuing in pattern would only yield 91 dc and you will need a multiple of 4 for the diagonal section, thus 92 dc. It is suggested that the increase be placed between the 3rd and 4th dc of the last 6-dc repeat. (92 dc) @ Jan Bass, 2012 - NOTE: Pattern is for personal use only. A second rsc made. Continue around. Keep work loose.

ADJUSTMENTSFORABEANIEVERSION:

Use G Hook (4.25 mm) Gauge: 17 dc = 4 inches; 7 dc rounds = 7 inches; 19 inches wide; 7.5 inches high Start with 12 dc in Round 1, rather than 13. Rounds will increase by multiples of 12. Round 7 will have 84 dc. The diagonal section will have 21 diagonals. Do not reduce the number of hdc in Round 15. If desired, the last 3 rounds of the diagonal section and all of the brim can be crocheted with a smaller hook, such as a 4.0 mm hook.
