You need 100 grams of fingering weight yarn. Needles US size 2,5, 3 mm. 3 buttons. Gauge: about 8 stitches pr. inch. Cast on 168 stitches. Knit one round. Purl one round. Make an eyelet round (yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, throughout round). Purl one round. Continue with chart till work measures 7 inches. On the next ground, decrease 88 stitches evenly by knitting two (and some places three) stitches together. You now have 80 stitches left on needles. Purl one round. Make an eyelet round (yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, throughout round). Purl one round. Divide work for armholes and back opening, with 20 stitches each for left and right back, and 40 stitches for front. Front: Work in stockinette stitch, 24 rounds. Start neckline shaping: put middle 12 stitches on a waiting needle . Continue to work each side separately. On row two, put 2 more stitches on the neck side on the waiting needle, and work till full length, 34 rows of stockinette stitch. Back: Work left and right sides separately, 34 rows of stockinette stitch. Keep yarn on needles. Using a sewing needle and matching yarn, sew shoulder seams over 12 stitches from back and front pieces. Use remaining stitches for neck band. Pick up extra stitches to a total of 52 stitches. Right side: knit one row. Wrong side: knit one row. Right side: make an eyelet row (yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, throughout row). Wrong side: knit one row. Right side: bind off all stitches loosely. Sleeves: Cast on 32 stitches. Work in the round. . Knit one round. Purl one round. Make an eyelet round (yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, throughout round). Purl one round. Continue in pattern for 44 rounds. At the same time, increase 2 stitches every 6th round by making one stitch after the first stitch on round, and one before the last stitch on round. After 44 rounds, start working back and forth. Bind off first two stitches on row a total of 3 times at each side. Bind off all stitches. Back opening bands: pick up 24 stitches along back band. Wrong side: knit one row. Right side: make an eyelet row (yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, throughout row). Wrong side: knit one row. Right side: bind off all stitches loosely.
Sew three buttons evenly along left back opening. Weave in loose ends. Chart:
