Using one of the squares of color (I used one of the Light Brown squares on the handle) and a pencil, mark dots through your stitches the shape of a square of color. Take the card stock and cut out the square you made. Place this square on the Urethane Foam, in the corner. Draw around the square with the Sharpie Marker. Using this chart, make the pickaxe shape on the Urethane foam. Cut the finished shape out with scissors. This will make a shape that will fit your knitting Put the two knitted pieces together, (as shown here) and stitch together with a darning needle. Each of the tabs fold over to give the pickaxe the block shape. I would put the foam inside and stitch the two sides of the handle together first then work on the picks to finish up. The stitching is tedious, but if you take your time you will be impressed with the beautiful work you have created.
