CO = Cast on, cast on used for this pattern is the long tailed P= Purl K=Knit · K2tg= Knit two together, this is the decrease used to form the crown of the hat.



Pattern Instructions
This pattern is written for an average size head and for a larger 24in head, shown in brackets. CO 64 [72] \*NOTE: CO an extra st for a seamless join, the extra st is slipped over the first st\* Rnd1-6: K2P2 Rnd7-18: Knit the body of the hat until you have knitted 6inches(CM) Rnd19: Place a st marker at the beginning of the rnd. Knit the next 6sts [7sts], k2tg the next two sts, repeat this 8 [9] more times. Rnd20: Knit around Rnd21: Knit the next 5sts [6sts], k2tg the next two sts, repeat this 8 [9] more times. Rnd22: Knit around Rnd23: Knit the next 4sts [5sts], k2tg the next two sts, repeat this 8 [9] more times. Rnd24: Knit around (Switch over to DPNs to make life easier) Rnd25: Knit the next 3sts [4sts], k2tg the next two sts, repeat this 8 [9] more times. Rnd26: Knit around Rnd27: Knit the next 2sts [3sts], k2tg the next two sts, repeat this 8 [9] more times. Rnd28: Knit around Rnd29: Knit the next 1sts [2sts], k2tg the next two sts, repeat this 8 [9] more times. Now to close the hat, you will need to cut the leaving a 16in tail for sewing. Thread your tapestry needle and pass it through all of your stitches left on your needles. Pull tight secure with a couple of knots and sew in your tail to the inside of the hat. Don't forget to sew you cast-on tail!
