Block first before sewing in zipper Take the bottom of the zipper and fold 1 inch of it around and under the ribbed bottom of the cowl (that is in one piece). Sew into place for security and strength. Pin your zipper so that it stable before you sew it. Stitch the rest of the zipper in place on either side of your cowl opening. The design aspect of the cowl is that you put it over your head but can zip or unzip depending on how cold you are. Knit for yourself, or give to your favorite stylish friend! 6 stitches = 1 inch on larger needles
