The Other Doctor's Scarf

1. Introduction 2. Requirements 3.Instructions 1. Introduction Hello, IM4MAN here. Now, this scarf might seem a bit familiar to you. Maybe. You might even say that it resembles the scarf one Doctor John Watson wore in a movie. Maybe. There are a lot of patterns where people have looked at high-res pictures and counted stitches and whatnot. This is not the case here. This one uses thinner yarn, guess-work and the do-what-you-like method. Nevertheless, it's a very fun pattern to make and a cool scarf to wear. Plus, it's toasty, and we really need that now.
2. Requirements
You need: yarn: weight Light - DK, worsted 2-3 skeins of medium to dark brown 2 skeins of middle blue 1 skein of light grey As always, Ive used Schachenmayr nomotta Bravo (brown: 08281; blue: 08259; grey: 08205) but you can use whatever looks right to you. Many claim that the small stripes are actually in a shade of white or cream colored, but to me, they look a bit grey, so I used grey.
You need: needles
one set of straight needles (5,0 mm) whatever you use to weave in ends (sewing needle, tapestry needle, ...) Iam4MAN Designs: The Other Doctor's Scarf whatever you use to make tassels You need: techniques 1x1 rib stitch tassels 3. Instructions Let's start. As always, feel free to modify these - if you want a broader scarf, cast on more stitches (just keep it an even number), if you want a longer scarf, repeat the pattern more often, etc.
Segment:
Cast on 50 stitches in brown. Work in 1x1 rib stitch for 24 rows. Change color to grey. Work in 1x1 rib stitch for 4 rows. Change color to blue. Work in 1x1 rib stitch for 14 rows. Change color to grey. Work in 1xl rib stitch 4 rows. You have now finished the first segment. Repeat 9 times. After you repeated this segment for the last time, knit 24 rows of 1x1 rib stitch in brown. Cast off.
Tassels:
I think long tassels work best with this scarf. I could fit 12 - 4 of each color - at each end, you do what you like.
