Glittens
Instructions for my 2-Finger-Mittens for Standard Gauge knitting machines (4.5mm) with ribber

This is what you need:
a knitting machine in standard gauge of 4.5mm with ribber Sock-Yarn 4ply (ca. 420m/100g) single and double transfer tool tapestry needle scissors someclawweights These techniques will be used (I'm not explaining them in this pattern in detail) 1:1 cast on Increases & decreases short rows cast off mattress stitch This pattern is for a pair of Glittens in size M (7.5) Why Glittens? Glittens size M (7.5), left hand
Cuff Cast on 62 stitches 1:1 → Tension 3 → knit 40 rows Set up your stitches for circular knitting
Palm pt. 1
· Set up your carriage for circular knitting: left part button on back bed, right part button on front bed ·→T 5 ·→ knit 20 rows (=10 rounds)
Thumb wedge increases
Set row counter on zero For the wedge increase 18 stitches on the left side (9 stitches on each bed) Add 1 stitch every 4th row on both beds on the left. Use your double transfer tool and transfer the 2 side stitches by one needle to the right. Fill the empty needle with the heel of the adjacent stitch ? The last increase will be done when the row counter shows 32 rows Knit another 3 rows (RC35) → your carriage is on the left side now.
Thumb
· RC on zero → both carriages set on H Put all the needles in H position except for the 20 needles on the left (10 stitches on each bed) Cross over the side edge stitches on the right of the thumb stitches (transfer the side edge stitch from the back bed to front bed and vice versa) to avoid a hole Use a claw weight for the thumb part and knit 42 rows - then start decreases for the thumb's top Decrease one stitch on each side and each bed every row with your double transfer tool Do so until there are only 4 stitches left: cut the yarn, pull the thread through these last 4 live stitches with a tapestry needle and secure it with a knot.
Palm pt. 2
Carriages still set up on Hold (H) →bring it to the right side (needles still in H position!) Put all the needles back to working position with the transfer tool Cross over the side edge stitches on the left side, as you did at the thumb, to avoid a hole Additionally you might even grab a stitch heel from the previous row and transfer it on one of your edge needles Thread your yarn back in your carriage → RC 0 → knit until RC 47 → the carriage is on the left.
Forefinger
·Knit it following the instructions for the thumb, but do 50 rows before you start decreasing ·Remember to cross over the edge stitches.
Remaining 3 fingers
? Carriage is on the ride side again, cross over the edge stitches on the left Thread your yarn into the carriage, RC on 0 and knit 48 rows Decrease the same way as before until you have 8 stitches left (4 stitches on each bed) · Thread yarn through that live stitches and secure.
