Bee Stitch Cowl
This warm and cozy cowl is a quick knit, perfect for keeping warm in the winter time. This is good for a beginner project, because it introduces stitch patterns beyond just knit and purl. It is also very easily modified to be any size that the knitter desires.
Recommended Yarn:
Plymouth Yarns Baby Alpaca Grande (100%Alpaca) Or other super bulky yarn, about 110 yards/101 meters

Needle:
US11 (8.0 mm) 40-inch circular Or size needed to get gauge Gauge: About 9 sts x 13 rnds = 4x4 inches

Abbreviations:
K: Knit P: Purl Rnd:Round K1 below: Knit into the stitch below the loop that is on the left needle
Instructions
Cast on 85 stitches. Join to begin working in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker to indicate beginning of the round, if needed. Rnd 1: P across Rnd 2: K1, \*K1 below, K1, repeat from \* across Rnd 3: P across Rnd 4: K2, K1 below, \*K1, K1 below, repeat from \* across Repeat these 4 rounds until cowl is as thick as desired. Bind off in pattern. Weave in ends and block if desired. Note: This pattern can be worked on any odd-numbered amount of stitches. If you would prefer a thicker cowl with a smaller circumference, cast on a fewer amount of stitches at the beginning. Likewise, a thinner cowl with a larger circumference can be made with a larger amount of stitches cast on at the beginning.
