BO = Bind Off CO = Cast On K = knit Kfb = knit in front and back of sts (increase) K2tog = knit 2 sts together (decrease) pm = place marker sl = slip st sm = slip marker st(s) = stitches RS = right side rm = remove marker wyif = with yarn in front
To Begin:
CO 48 sts Row 1: (RS) K 24, pm, K 24 In order to distinguish RS from WS, place a split ring marker on this row. Row 2: Kfb in 1st st, K to within 1 st of marker, Kfb, sm, Kfb, K to last st, Kfb (52 sts) Row3:K1row Repeat rows 2 & 3 twice (60 sts) Remove marker on last row. K every row until piece measures 1 1/2"
Instep:
Row 1: K 34, K2tog, turn work Row 2: Sl1 wyif, K 8, K2tog Repeat row 2 until 40 sts remain Turn work, sl 1 wyif, K to end Last row: BO all sts
Finishing:
Sew back edge together & CO edge together. Using a contrasting yarn or the same yarn, whip stitch or single crochet around opening of scuff. The sewn edge will help secure the scuf while on the foot.
