The Huggle
By Lynne Ashton
Aran Version

I knitted the shawl in the above photos in the following: YARN: 2 skeins x Flamboyance Yarns - Bailey. 100gm - 166mtrs per skein. This is an Aran weight and the beautiful colour is called Shooting Stars. NEEDLES: 7 mm - I used KnitPro Symfonie interchangables with a 12Omm cable. NOTIoNs: A large eyed, blunt tipped tapestry needle. GAUGE: 1" = 4.75 rows and 1" = 3.5 sts over stocking stitch.
DK Version

I knitted the shawl in the above photos in the following: YARN: 2.5 balls x Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK colour 18012 Yellow. 50gm - 110 m per ball NEEDLES: 5.5 mm - I used KnitPro Symfonie interchangables with a 120mm cable. NOTIONs: A large eyed, blunt tipped tapestry needle. GAUGE: 1" = 6 rows and 1" = 4.5 sts over stocking stitch The Huggle was named by our Group on Ravelry. Some lovely name suggestions but The Huggle won the vote. The Huggle was suggested by Robin. Yay! Robin. lant something all warm and cosy for a typical winter's day? The Huggl This shawl is shaped on the shoulders helping it not to slip off. The fronts curve around across the bust line - ideal for a beautiful shawl pin or even a button. If you don't already know these techniques, I would strongly suggest learning to make a Russian Join or a Felted Join, that way there are no ends in the body of the shawl. a link to videos showing both techniques: just scroll down to find them
