Wings

WARNING: I do not continue to say k2, pl, k2, pl the whole way for every single line. I only say what the pattern for that row is and if there are any changes. When the ribbing is established, it should be easy to figure out what comes next. WARNING 2: These are single crossed stitches, meaning a single stitch will go left and a single stitch will go right. If there is a decrease AND a cross stitch, do the decrease FIRST and THEN count the stitches to find which one is the cross stitch. You should have a pointed tip. Pull a LOT (I used 5 feet, but then I'm a beginner) of yarn through and out. Use insanely long tail and darning needle to make side 'cables'. On the wing's side of decreases, you'll notice that there are stitches that sit on the edge, around the 'corner'. You'll want to take your threaded needle and go through both legs of each stitch all the way down. When you come to a 'depression' before the next decrease starts, put the needle further into the wing into the middle of the next stitch (see next 3 photos). to use that same tail and the beginning string to sew the wings onto whatever Right wing will be after the photos. This picture tries to show where to put the needle while doing the 'side cables'. The picture after is a before and after of side cables. Probably not even called cables at all. You just keep looping the yarn through the edge over and over all the way down the wing.

This is a picture of the difference between 'side cables' after and before. Gives the edge a more 'wingly definition I think.

Here, I'm attempting to show you where to stick the needle in the depression. The left needle is at the depression and the right needle is where all the normal side cables go. Maybe the picture after this one will be more clear..

I hope this clears up any confusion. All the side cables are along the edge, but at the indent, go in further just the once then go back to the little ones.
