M1R/M1L: for experienced knitters, I like to work the right of the tree branch increases as M1R, which is great if you know how. Insert needle into horizontal thread from back, knit into the front. 'I'll be right back'.. knit the knits and purl the purls: if the stitch you are working has a 'v' at the base of it, knit it. If it has a purly gate across it at the base, purl it....I call this my Purly Gates method. k1b: knit one stitch in the back leg thereby twisting it slightly p2togtbl: purl two stitches together through the back legs. Slip stitches one at a time to right needle by leading with back leg, twisting them, then back to left needle, then purl them 'twisted'. Or p2togtbl as normal if you can! INSTRUCTIONS: Cast on 44 stitches (longtail is fine) fairly loosely. Banyan Trees Practice Dishcloth Pattern: Page 3

Row 1: sl 1 knitways (all slipped stitches are knitways, unless otherwise indicated), k42, p1

If it does not, then you can work a few additional rows of 10 and 11, always finishing with a Row 10. If it's too wide (more than 12"), you should start over and work with smaller needles.
