Excess is a classic take on the modern slouchy hat. The fundamental design uses the simplicity of garter and stockinette stitches to highlight the clean and basic lines.

NOTES
Excess is knit in the round using fingering weight yarn, making it a comfortable, lightweight hat that is the perfect accessory for transitional weather, or for everyday wear in milder climates. If substituting yarn, be sure to check your gauge. YouTube instructions for provisional cast on, and knitted hem can be found on the Ravelry pattern page. You will need 2 extra US 5 (3.75mm) circular needles for the last part of the brim. Any cable length that can hold all stitches may be used. Hat itself weighs 47g (1 skein of KPM or KPPPM = 50g), the amount of yarn that was given included the swatch. Tip: Make your swatch with a left over KPM or KPPPM yarn and use the whole skein for knitting the hat.
