You will need
Dale Garn Freestyle (100% wool, 80m/50g), 1 ball each of 0017 (white) and 5626 (blue) or other wool yarn of comparable weight 1 set 4 mm DPNs (or size to get gauge) Embroidery needle Gauge 21 sts/10 cm
Sizes available: S (M, L, XL, XXL)
S (36/37) M (38/39) L (40/41) XL (42/43) XXL (44/45)
Note:
The numbers for the different sizes are always in these places: S (M, L, XL, XXL). So if you're knitting a size S, you will use the number before the bracket; if you're knitting XL, the second-to-last number is yours. It helps to highlight the right numbers before casting on. If there is only one number given, it applies to all sizes.

Leg
CO 32 (34, 36, 38, 40) sts in MC. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. (K1, p1) for 9 rounds. Start stripe pattern, knitting every stitch: 1 CC 4 MC 2 CC 3 MC 3 CC 2 MC 4 CC 1 MC
Heel
Using MC, work heel flap over the next 16 (17 18, 19, 20) sts: Row 1: sl 1, k 15 (16, 17, 18, 19), turn Row 2: sl 1 wyif, p 15 (16, 17, 18, 19), turn Repeat those two rows a total of 7 (7, 8, 8, 9) times.
Begin short rows
Sl 1, k 9 (9, 10, 11, 12), ssk, turn. Row 2: Sl 1 wyif, p 4 (3, 4, 5, 6), p2tog, turn. Row 3: Sl 1, k 4, ssk, turn. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until no stis are left beyond the decreases, ending on a p row. You should have 6 (5, 6, 7, 8) sts left on the heel flap needle. Next row: sl 1, k to end of heel flap. Break MC yarn. With CC and beginning at right side of the heel flap, pick up 8 (8, 9, 9, 10) sts along the side of the heel flap (1 in every slip st plus1 in the gap between heel flap and top of the foot). K across heel flap sts, then pick up and knit another 8 (8, 9, 9, 10) sts along the other side of the heel flap. K 16 (17, 18, 19, 20) sts.
Begin decrease rounds
Round 1: k 1, ssk, k last 3 sts of sole, k2tog, k 17 (18, 19, 20, 21). Round 2: k Repeat until you have a total of 32 (34, 36, 38, 40) sts.
Foot
Work in stockinette until the sock measures 13.5 (15, 15.5, 16.5, 17) cm from the last stripe/ heel flap. Break yarn.
Toe
Switch to MC. Round 1 (decrease round): k 1, ssk, k to last 3 sts of the sole, k2tog, k2, ssk, work to last 3 sts of the round, k2tog, k 1. Round 2: k Repeat these two rounds until there are 16 (16, 16, 18, 18) sts left, then start decreasing every round to 8 sts. Break yarn, thread through remaining 8 sts and pull tight. Reverse color scheme for seconds sock
Finishing
Weave in all ends. Soak in warm water for 5-10 minutes. Gently squeeze out water against the edge of the sink, then roll into a towel and press down to dry even more. Do not wring or twist. Lay on a flat surface and gently pull into shape. Dry laying flat.
