Important KAL Information
[Needles
Included in Clue #1 is all the information you'll need to get started. You'll find the Suggested Needle Size, Gauge, Yarn, Abbreviations and all the Supplies you'll need to complete the Mystery Shawl. Size US 5/3.75 mm Knitting Needles, or size needed to get gauge.
[Yarn
One 100 gram ball of Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Single Lace [75% Superwash Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk]. 774 yards/803 meters. Total yardage: 740 yards/ 710 meters. This pattern uses all but 34 yards of the yarn included. Please be extra mindful that you are getting gauge so that you don't run out of yarn! The first clue is short and sweet with just enough knitting to get you working with your new yarn and needles but before you know it you'll have moved on to Clue 2.

Removable stitch marker, yarn needle (for weaving in ends), blocking aids (optional) The clue comes with written instructions and charts so feel free to knit from either the written instructions or the charts or a little of both. Clue #5 The Final Clue
Short Row Center-Clue 4
After one stitch before stitch marker is reached (from Clue 4), then complete the Short Row Center. Purl all WS rows, slipping the first stitch of each purl row except on Short Rows (Row 8 and Row 6).

Work to one stitch to the right of stitch marker (ending with Row 6 of 38th repeat) and work Short Row Center instructions. Row 7: K18, TURN. Row 8: P18. Row l: Kl, ssk, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, k2, k2tog with edge stitch. Row 2: Slip 1, p18. Row 3: K18, k2tog with edge stitch. Row 4: Slip l, p18. Row 5: K2, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, k2tog, kl, TURN. Row 6: P18, TURN. Row 7: K18, k2tog with edge stitch. Row 8: Slip 1, p18. Continue on as before on Row l of Chart D. Work until all main body stitches are consumed. Purl c row more and bind off remaining stitches, weave in ends, and block.

Row l: Kl, ssk, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, k2, k2tog with edge stitch. Row 2, and all even-numbered (WS) rows to Row 8: Slip first stitch purlwise, purl all remaining Sstitches. Row 3: K18, k2tog with edge stitch. Row 5: K2, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, sk2p, kl, yo, kl, yo, kl, k2tog, kl, k2tog with edge stitch. Row 7: K18, k2tog with edge stitch.
Charted Instructions
Note for Chart D: Without Breaking Yarn and using the knitted cast-on method, cast on 19 sts. Work Chart D, knitting last edge stitch together with one stitch from main body stitches on all odd rows. Repeat Chart D until one stitch to the right of stitch marker is reached ending with a purl row. Purl all WS rows, slipping the first stitch.
