Crocheted Fabric Ruffled Scarf
Crocheting fabric? Yes! It's a totally unique experience with the fabulous Brazilian fabric/yarn, Tecido Trico, from Circulo. The distributor's video demonstrates how to knit with it to create a fabulous ruffle. After experimenting with crochet, I found that to be equally enjoyable and discovered I could crochet the fabric faster than knitting it. I was also able to crochet two soft ruffling scarves from onehank. One half of the hank will result in a scarf that is approximately 4"wide x 60"in length. The scarf is long enough to fashion many ways, as shown. Another beautiful styling (unfortunately, I didn't have my camera) is to make a rosette close to the neck by wrapping the ends around your hand and pulling the very end through the center.
Have fun!
Materials:
One hank of Tecido Trico by Circulo. The color shown is #261, Black with Red Flowers, 32.8 yards (30 meters). You will use one half of this amount or 16.4 yards (15 meters) for each scarf. Size I crochet hook. 5.5mm. Sewing needle with matching thread. Fray check fabric glue. (optional)
Set Up Information:
number of live sts at the top left corner of the house. You're done! Weave in the 2 ends, or grams. (Thanks to my trusty Weight Watchers scale!) The series of short rows until you're knitting downwards from the roof. Now continue to work the you want your windows to be, you now need to either knit a few rows straight, or launch right window, making sure you continue to pick up and knit sts as you do so. Then work another

Directions:
The first and last 4 stitches are doubled. Count 4 holes from the edge and fold over the fabric so the first four holes overlap the next. Holding the working fabric yarn in your left hand between the index and middle finger, you will be able to arrange the holes to be easily gathered by the crochet hook. The working fabric/yarn will twist as you crochet, so take time to untwist the hank as you need to and you will avoid frustration. Always going from the front to the back, insert your crochet hook into the first doubled hole, bring it over the fabric to the front and insert it into the next doubled hole, until you have 4 stitches on your hook. Pull the last stitch through the three other stitches on the hook. You will have onestitch. Now you will work the rest of the scarf with single stitches (holes). \*From the front to the back, collect the next three stitches on your hook. You will have four stitches. Pull the last stitch you made through the three stitches on yourhook. \*

Repeat between \*\* until you have 8 holes remaining.
The fabric will begin to twist. Add more twist by following the direction of the scarf and twisting it with your hand. At approximately the half way point, you will need to "train" the ruffle to go down to match the first half. Simply push the ruffle down, following the natural twistofthescarf.

When you have 8 holes left, fold over the fabric so they are doubled 4 holes and finish crocheting the final 4 stitches. You will have one remaining LIVE stitch. To secure the scarf from unraveling, this final stitch MUsT be hand sewn with a needle and thread. Securely sew it to the body of the crocheted stitches. You may use a dab of Fray Check fabric glue after the stitch is sewn.Thisis optional. Repeat all the directions and crochet a SEcoND scarf!
Enjoy!
