Sonja's hat
The photo above is from the Norwegian movie "Reisen til julestjernen 2012" (photo Filmweb.com). I do not claim any rights to the pattern, as I just made a hat similar to the super-simple hat in the photo. Head Circumference: Ca 14/15 inches (add/subtract multiples of 8 etc sts for larger/smaller sizes) Gauge: 14 sts = 4 inches Materials: 1 hank Viking Yarns Eco-Alpaca (100 % alpakka/125 m/100 g - shown in 407) Liten rundpinne og strompepinner nr 5 Cast on 48/56 sts and join for knitting in the round, knit stockinette st about 20 cm/8 inches (or more if you'd like a more baggy hat)
Decreases:
1st rnd: [k2tog, k6] to end of rnd. 2nd and every other rnd: Knit. 3rd rnd: : [k2tog, k5] to end of rnd. 5th rnd: : [k2tog, k4] to end of rnd. 7th rnd: : [k2tog, k3] to end of rnd. 9th rnd: : [k2tog, k2] to end of rnd. 11th rnd: : [k2tog, k1] to end of rnd. 13th rnd: k2tog to end of rnd.
Note: If you increase or decrease the number of stitches, there will be more or less rounds of decreases. But just start with 1"t round and end with k2tog all around. Thread a needle with the end through the last 7 sts twice and fasten off. Weave in the bottom end on the right side, so it disappears inside the rolled-up edge.
