The SONJA Originally made by Sonja J. who NEVER knits anything from a pattern! She just starts knitting and something cute always comes out. Sometimes it starts out as a cardigan and ends up a pullover. Sometimes she doesn't evenknow what it's going to grow up to be! 2 skeins Blue Heron Cotton Rayon Seed. Or any yarn on a bigger needle than called for. I also used Berocco Seduce. #9 needle Body (Make 2) CO3sts. Increase 1 stitch at the beginning of each row until 108 stitches. Decrease 1 stitch at the beginning of each row until 3 stitches. B03sts. Gusset (Make 2)] CO30sts. Knit 1.5 inches Decrease 1 st. every few rows until last 6 stitches. BO. Mine measured 12". Sleeves (Make 2) CO 50 sts on 7 Needle. Knit 10 rows on 730 rows on 9BO on 11 needle. Mostly I have just picked up stitches and knit down for the sleeve to the length I wanted. (keeping in mind that if you knit in the round it will be st st instead of garter.) My sleeves were short so I didn't care. I think I knit about 6rows. This is just a rough guideline for what I did. The object is to knit the body squares to fit you. Knit until you get the size you want then start your decreases. For example if you want a 40" sweater, knit for 20" then start to decrease back down. I usually steam mine with the iron when I think it's enough. This just makes sure it won't grow too much after wearing. You will then sew in the gusset. Try it on before you knit the sleeves. If you're picking up sts for them, you can pick up more or less depending on the armhole size. This is meant to be an open and drapey pullover. The gusset is to make it more ruffley on the bottom. Sew shoulder seams. Not rocket science. It always turns out. Try it!
