Kitteh Blanket

Your pet will love to snuggle up in this squishy soft and warm garter stitch blanket. It's a gift of love from you to your pet @. I've knit several of these blankets and we use them to line the insides of our cats' sleeping baskets making sure that they are kept warm and snuggly. This blanket is knit in diagonal (from one corner to the opposite corner). It is an easy and fast knit and very easy to customize (blanket size or yarn weight) if desired.

Instructions
Preparations - divide the yarn:
You can knit this in any size and with any amount of yarn. If you only have a limited amount of yarn available, then I recommend dividing the yarn before casting on. Dividing your yarn available will be helpful in making sure that you will have enough yarn to finish the blanket. If you have plenty of yarn available, then I recommend that you continue to knit until you are happy with the measurement of the first section of the blanket, and then proceed with the second section. Kitteh Blanket by Ann Thomsen, copyright 2014, allrights reserved. For personal use only. Version 1.1, September 2014. Dividing the yarn: Weigh your yarn and divide it into two almost equal amount/weight portions. TIP: If the two portions of yarn end up not weighing exactly the same, then I always use the smallest portion for the first section. Use the first portion for the first section (the increase part) and the second portion for the second section (the decrease part) of the blanket.
First Section (the increase part):
Cast on 3 sts. Row 1 (ws): k3 Row 2 (rs): kfb, k1, kfb Row 3 (ws): k5 Row 4 (rs): kfb, k until 1 st left, kfb Row 5 (ws): knit Repeat row 4 and 5 until you have used up almost all of the first portion of yarn - or until you have reached the desired size for first section. Now it's time to proceed with the second section of the blanket (the decrease part). Continue using the rest of the yarn from the first portion and add in the second portion of yarn when needed.
Second section (the decrease part):
Row 1 (rs): k2tog, knit until 2 sts left, ssk Row 2 (ws): knit Repeat row 1 and 2 until only 3 sts remain. Last row (rs): Bind off the 3 remaining sts using and ordinary bind off.

Weave in the ends - and Voila! - blanket is now ready for kitteh approval Asmallnoteoncopyright: This pattern, all images and text is copyrighted, all rights belongs to Ann Thomsen.
