WAVELENGTH
Knit from side to side in simple stockinette and reverse stockinette stitch this scarf is warm and cozy. I-cord surrounds the scarf to keep all the edges neat & tidy and easy short rows define the shape.
Materials
。 5mm (8us) 32" (or longer) circular needle 。 5mm (8US) dpns 。 2 hanks Malibrigo Worsted 210 yds /100g (shown in colourway Loro Barranquero #176)
Stitches Used
·Knit 。Purl 。-cord 。 Slip with yarn in front (slip wyif) 。 Knit front and back (kf&b) 。 Purl front and back (pf&b) 。 Slip slip knit (ssk)


I-cord cast on edge
Using 5mm (8Us) dpns cast on 3 stitches, Knit your first row of stitches and don't turn your work. Slide your stitches to the other end of the needle. with right side facing you, the working yarn will be at the left-most stitch on your left hand needle. Knit into the right-most stitch on your left hand needle, pulling the working yarn across the back of your stitches to begin the next row. This creates the I-cord. Keep repeating this process until your I-cord is 185 rows long. Switch to 5mm (8Us) 32" circular needle.
Setup Section
Row 1: Do not bind off but turn your work and pick up and knit 10 sts from the next 10 rows of I-cord. You should have 13 sts on your right hand needle and a long dangling I-cord at the left side. Turn your work. Row 2: Purl to the last 3 sts. with yarn in front (wyif) slip the last 3 sts onto right hand needle. Turn. Row 3: Knit across your sts, then pick up and knit 5 more sts from the I-cord. Turn. (18 sts) Row 4: Purl to the last 3 sts. Slip the last 3 sts on to your needle wyif. Turn. Rows 5-8: Repeat rows 3&4 two more times. You should have a total of 28 sts on your needle.
Purl Section
Row 1: k3, pf&b, purl to end. Pick up and knit 5 more sts from the I-cord. Turn. Row 2: Knit to last 4 sts, kf&b, slip last 3 sts wyif. Repeat rows 1&2 three more times. (8 rows total in section)
Knit Section
Row 1: Knit across your sts, then pick up and knit 5 more sts from the I-cord. Turn. Row 2: Purl to the last 3 sts. Slip the last 3 sts wyif. Repeat rows 1&2 three more times. (8 rows total in section)


Repeat Purl and Knit sections until you use all the stitches from the I-cord. You should finish with a completed knit section with 220 sts on your needle. Note: You will now start leaving stitches behind. Each time you will work 10 stitches less.
Decrease Purl Section
Row 1: k3, pf&b, purl to 10 sts from the end. Turn. Row 2: Knit to last 4 sts, kf&b, slip last 3 sts wyif. Repeat rows 1&2 three more times. (8 rows total in section)
Decrease Knit Section
Row 1: Knit until 10 sts before your last turn. Turn. Row 2: Purl to the last 3 sts, slip the last 3 sts wyif. Repeat rows 1&2 three more times. (8 rows total in section) Repeat Decrease Purl and Decrease Knit sections. when you have completed your last reverse stockinette section you will have 7 stockinette sections and 7 reverse stockinette sections.
