\*2 skeins of Nomadic Yarns Stout (sample knit in “Birding" colorway) or 164 yards of your favorite super bulky weight yarn. \*Size 15 needles \*Tapestry Needle \*Cable Needle \*3 large buttons
Gauge
10 stitches = 4 inches in garter stitch
Abbreviations
K: knit P: purl 4BC: Slip two stitches to cable needle, hold in back of work. Knit two stitches, knit two stitches from cable needle. 4FC: Slip two stitches to cable needle, hold in front of work. Knit two stitches, knit two stitches from cable needle. YO: yarn over K2tog: Knit two stitches together.
Instructions
Using size 15 needles, cast on 28 stitches. Work 6 rows of garter stitch
Cable set up
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7 (RS): Knit row Rows 2, 4, 6, 8 (WS): K3, p9, k4, p9, k3. Row 9 (RS): K3, 4BC, k1, 4FC,k4, 4BC, k1, 4FC, K3 Row 10 (WS): K3, p9, k4, p9, k3. Work rows 1-10 10 times total. Work rows 1-8 once more. Knit 2 rows in garter stitch.
Buttonhole rows
(RS) Knit 3 stitches, YO, k2t0g, k9, YO, k2t0g, k8, YO, k2t0g, k2. (WS) Knit across row, knitting the YOs as you come to them. Knit 2 more rows of garter stitch and bind off. Weave in ends and block. Sew buttons onto garter section near cast on edge.
