You will need:

Oddments of white and pink DK yarn $25\,\mathrm{g}$ sand coloured DK yarn $3.50\:\mathrm{mm}$ hook (metric) / US size E-4 Yarn needle Polyester stuffing Please note that Ihave used UK crochet terms, being an English bird $\circledcirc$ so please check the abbreviations below:

Abbreviations

ch Chain dc Double crochet $\mathbf{\left[UK\right]}=\mathbf{\left[\begin{array}{l l}{\mathbf{\left[UK\right]}=}&{}\end{array}\right]}$ Single crochet (US) dc2tog Double crochet 2 together (UK) $=$ sc2tog (Us)= decrease 1 The ice cream is worked from the top down in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the first stitch of each round - this makes it easier to count. use a small hoop earring for this. You begin with pink and then alternate with white so that each round is a different colour. Do not cut the yarn each time you change colour, just let it hang at the side of the work. I like to keep one yarn on either side of me so that they don't become entangled whil I'm working. Remember to join the new colour in the last stitch of the last round worked in the previous colour. If you're not sure, here's how to do it: start to work the last stitch as usual, i.e. draw up a loop using the previous yarn so that there are two loops on the hook, then loop the new yarn around your hook and pullit through both of these stitches. Leave the previous yarn where it is, because you'll be picking it up again at the end of this next round. The finished ice cream cone measures approximately 17 cm / 6.5 inches, but gauge is not essential for this project.
