als : "G" hook and worsted weight cotton yarn (sugar n' cream or peaches &cream) Special sts : beg cross st - ch 3 and working in front of beg ch 3 dc in last dc of previous rnd. Cross st - skip next st, dc in next st, working in front of dc just made, dc in skipped dc. Beg shell -ch3,2dc,ch2,3dc in indicated st. Shell st - 3dc,ch2, 3dc in indicated st. Instructions : Rnd 1: ch 4, work 12dc in the 4th ch from the hook. Join in top of beg ch 4 (13dc) Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in same st as joining, then work 2dc in each st around. Join in top of beg ch 3. (26dc) Rnd 3: (in back loops only) ch 3, then DC in each st around. Join in top of beg ch3. (26dc) Rnd 4: work beg cross st. (See special sts), then work \*cross st (see special sts) over next 2 sts . Repeat from \*around. Join in top of beg ch 3. (13 cross sts) Rnds 5-8: repeat rnd 4 Edging : beg shell (see special sts), \* skip next st, shell (see special sts) in next st. Repeat from \* around. Join in top of beg ch 3.
