Materials Needed
Pair of 6mm (USA 10) Single pointed 35cms long needles 1 x 100g Ball (120yds) Baby's first super bulky cotton acrylic by Lion Brand or similar 3 x Buttons 22mm in diameter 1 x Bodkin or blunt ended darning needle to sew in ends 1 x Pair scissors 1 x sewing needle and thread to match project to sew on the buttons 1 x Row counter (optional)
Gauge/Tension - 0ver 10x10cms (4x4inches)
14sts x 22rows - over stocking stitch
Key to Abbreviations used
K- Knit P-Purl WS - Wrong side RS - Right Side arn over - bring yarn over from back to front of knitting before knitting next stitch inc3 - is an increase & means 1 stitch will become 3 stitches by working 1xknit, bring yarn to front and 1xpurl & move yarn to back and 1xknit into the same stitch. p3tog - is a decrease & means purl 3 stitches together at the same time as if they were a single stitch. lli - left lifted increase - you pick up the loop of the stitch below the right needle, put on working needle and knit it. rli - right lifted increase - you pick up the loop of the stitch below the left needle, put on working needle and knit it. cdd - central double decrease - 3 stitches reduce to become 1 stitch, you slip 2 stitches as if you're going to knit them together onto the other needle in one go but don't knit them, knit the next stitch on the other needle then pick up the 2 slipped stitches at the same time and pass them both over the one you've just knitted and drop them off the knitting needle leaving the stitch you just knitted on the needle.
