Stitch Instructions for Lace Scarf Pattern Inspired by Ravelry Design (Tess Dawson Superkid Mohair Lace)

Background & Stitch Instructions

This was initially inspired by a pictureI saw on Ravelry, and then after posting a request for help on the foundation chain to reconstruct it, Igot the instructions below from a very kind member called irishlacenet (real life name Denise Plourde). 1. Chain a multiple of $_{8+4}$ 2. 4dc in the 4th chain from the hook, \*skip 3 ch, dc-ch1-dc in next ch, skip 3 ch, 5dc into next ch, repeat from \* to end of row. (which should be the last stitch) Turn work. 3. Slip stitch to just before 3rd dc, ch4 (counts as dc and ch1), dc into 4th dc of shell, \*skip 3dc, 5dc into ch1 space, skip 3dc, dc into 3rd dc of shell, ch1, dc into 4th dc of shell, repeat from \* to end of row. Turn work. 4. Slipstitch into chain space, ch3 (counts as first dc), 4dc into same ch sp,\*skip 3 ch, dc-ch1-dc in next ch, skip 3 ch, 5dc into next ch, repeat from \* to end of row. Ithen tried out this stitch with a starting chain of 36 using a lovely yarn (Tess Dawson Superkid Mohair Lace) and a 4mm hook and got this, with a gauge of 2 pattern repeats $=3.5$ inches, $7\,\mathsf{r o w s}=4$ inches. I then finished the balland found that the scarf was about 4 foot long - and on blocking it grew to about 6 feet long.

Then I decided to have a go at doing a chart to help further.

Obviously, you can increase the width of your fabric using this stitch by chaining more on the foundation row.
