House Unity Scarf by Danielle Smith

If you've seen the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie, you may have noticed the very cool scarf that Neville wears during the second task. I just knew that I needed to have that scarf, and so I've created this pattern so others can have it, too. My colours are quite a lot brighter than the ones on Neville's scarf, so be sure to choose shades that work for you. Finished Width: 6 inches Finished Length: 5.5 feet, without fringe
Yarn
2 skeins Lion Brand Wool-Ease in black (3 skeins if you're knitting in the round or making a larger scarf) less than 1 skein each of Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Cranberry, Buttercup, Forest Green Heather, and Blue Heather \*Substitute with any worsted-weight yarn in the shades of your choice.
Gauge
8 stitches by 6 rows = 1 square inch \*Note about gauge: My scarf is knit entirely in 1x1 rib. If you would prefer to knit a tube, you need to pay careful attention to your gauge to cast on the correct number of stitches. E.g., if your gauge is 5 stitches to the inch, you'll want to cast on 60 stitches in the round to obtain the correct width. NeedlesUS 8 /5mm Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments about this pattern.
