Begin With A, cast on (48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88) stitches. Slide the stitches evenly around the needle and make sure none are twisted. Place a marker and join to begin knitting in the round. Work in stockinette stitch (knit every round) until the hat measures 5(5%, 6, 6%, 7, 7%, 8) inches from the cast-on edge. Do not measure from the rolled brim or the hat will be too long. Allow the edge to roll up naturally as you knit, or roll to the desired length once finished. Switch to Yarn B and knit one round.

Finish
Cut the yarn, leaving an 8-inch tail. With a yarn needle, weave the tail through the remaining stitches and pull through the hole at the top of the hat. Pull tightly to close and weave in the tail neatly on the inside of the hat. Trim, if necessary. Cut a length of Yarn C and thread onto the yarn needle. Using the photo as a guide, embroider the seams of a tennis ball onto the top, green portion of the hat. Weave the ends to the inside of the hat and trim, if necessary.
