[k1, ssk, k3, k2tog, k1] rep; k 1 rnd on 14 sts [k1, ssk, k1, k2tog, k1] rep; k 1 rnd on 10 sts [k1, k3tog, k1] rep (6 sts) [k3tog] rep (2 sts -- break yarn and pull thru these 2 sts; secure). Make second ear. Using the ear-placement shaping sts as your guide, sew the ears in place (thru both layers of ear CO sts). [See photo for help] With US#4 needles and worsted weight yarn, CO 12 sts. Keeping first and last 3 sts in garter, and the middle 6 sts in SS, work for 28 rows. BO and set aside (this is the main section of the “bow") With US #4 needles and worsted weight yarn, CO 5 sts. Work 16 rows of stockinette and BO, attaching the BO sts to the CO sts (making a ring for the bow). Pull the flat main section thru the ring, centering the “"bow". Secure to the left ear, sewing thru all layers to secure. See picture for assistance in placement.
KITTY FEATURES:
Using the scraps of black worsted weight yarn, sew Hello Kitty's features. First, center the nose (I made 2 or 3 satin stitches thru 2 rows). I then placed the eyes, making a star or asterisk for each. THERE IS NO MOUTH on Hello Kitty. The whiskers are three straight lines.
