Yarn: 1 hank ofMirasol Ushya (114 yds/100g; 98% Merino and 2% Nylon) Gauge: 2.5 sts/in Needles: US13/9mm 16" circular and DPNs or needle size to obtain gauge Finished Size: 22" head circumference; fits a 22"- 25" head confortably Tools: Stitch Markers CO 56sts. Carefully join in the round without twisting. Place a beginning of the round marker. Row 1: Knit Row 2: Purl Row 3: Knit Row 4: Purl Now, work in Stockinette st (just knit) until piece measures 6.5" from the cast on edge. Decrease Rounds: Rnd 1: \*K6, K2tog, place a marker, repeat from \* around. (49 sts) Rnd 2 and all following even rounds: Knit Rnd 3: \*K5, K2tog, repeat from \* around. (42 sts) Rnd 5: \*K4, K2tog, repeat from \* around. (35 sts) Rnd 7: \*K3, K2tog, repeat from \* around. (28 sts) Rnd 9: \*K2, K2tog, repeat from \* around. (21 sts) Rnd 11: \*K1, K2tog, repeat from \* around. (14 sts) Rnd 12: \*K2tog, repeat from \* around. (7 sts) Cut a tail and feed it through the remaining 7 sts and draw the hole closed. Weave in ends and enjoy. There was enough yarn that you could easily add a pom pom on top, but the hat recipient opted out of pom pom placement.
