Lobster Trap Fingerless Gloves By Pat Lubelczyk
When my friend Lyn, asked me to test her Lobster trap Scarf, Ihad one of my brain storms. Maybe it was the bamboo yarn I was using but Ijust knew I had to make a pair of fingerless gloves to go with the scarf.
Materials:
Mary Maxim Bamboo Softstripes $75\%$ Bamboo $25\%$ nylon $3.5\;\mathrm{oz}/100\mathrm{gm}\,459$ yards. I used what was leftafter making the scarf 60 inches ong $3.00\;\mathrm{mm}$ hook (D) or size needed to make the pattern fit around your wrist comfortably

This pattern is based on the pattern Lobster Trap Scarf.\* Please refer to the pattern for stitch details. Pattern can be found at www.shepherdscrookcrochet.com. Pattern is worked seamlessly in the round. Begin each round with a ch 3 (counts as first dc). Join round with sl st to first st. I tried to make my joinings in the palm area.

Instructions:
Foundation Work a foundation row of 30 fdc. Sl st to first st to form a circle. See if this goes over your hand easily. Ifit is too big, go down a hook or more size. If too small, go up a hook size. Round 1 . Dc around join with sl st to top of dc. Rounds 2 -9 Starting with Row 1 of the Lobster Trap Scarf, work in the round for 8 rounds.
Thumb opening:
Slip over hand and mark where the thumb should be with the pattern centered on hand. Round 10 Crochet in pattern to one stitch .before thumb marker. Work 5 fsc . Skip 5 stitches on previous round. Continue in stitch pattern around. Rounds 11-14 Continue working in stitch pattern. (Note: Glove can be made longer or shorter by adding or omitting rows. Try glove on to determine desired length). Rounds 15-16 Ch 3. Dc in each st around. Sl st to first st Facten off
Thumb detail:
Attach yarn with sl st to thumb opening. Work one round of sc. Try glove on and see if a round of hdc or dc gives you the height you want. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Repeat for other glove.
