With size G hook: Foundation ring: Make a ring of yarn around 2 fingers and hold yarn tail with thumb. Insert hook into ring and draw up a loop. Ch1. Row1: 6 sc in foundation ring. Pulloose end of yarn to tighten ring around sts. just made. Join with sl st in top of first sc. Row 2: Ch 3, work puff in same sc, ch 1, \*work pufin next sc, ch1; repeat from $^{\ast5}$ times more. Sl st on top of $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ puff to join. 7 puffs and 7 spaces. Row 3: Ch3, work puff in same st as ch 3, ch1, work (puff, ch1) in each st and ch1 space around. Join with si st in top of first puff 14 puffs and 14 spaces. Row 4: Work same as Row 3. 28 puffs and 28 spaces. Row 5: Ch3, work puffin next ch1 sp, ch1. Frayed Denim Flower
Note: denim is best when cut in one continuous $^{1}\!/\!_{2}^{\,,\,\bullet}$ wide strip with no joins. Follow dotted cutting line on diagram $a$ to ensure the longest fabric strip possible.

With size L hook:
Foundation ring: Leaving 6-7” tail of unworked yarn, Ch 6, join with sl st to $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ chto form ring. Row 1: ( Ch 5, sc in ring ) 5 times. Tie off tightly leaving a 6-7" tail of yarn. Wash flower in delicates bag on normal wash cycle and dry in dryer on medium heat. Attach flower in desired spot on hat using tapestry needle and scrap piece of hat yan.
