Aran cable panel - see chart/text for directions Broken rib stitch (mult 3 sts) - worked flat: 1. (rs) -k1, \*p1, k2; rep from \*, end pl, k1 2. (ws) - k2, \*p2, kl; rep from \*, end k2. 3. same as row 1 4. (ws) - knit across rep rows 1-4 for pattern Aran Pocket Purse: Starting with #4s, CO 44sts and, using chart, begin pocket flap in Aran cable panel. Note that on the 5th row, you will be placing a simple, yo buttonhole.

Begin the broken rib stitch. Do 20 reps of this pattern, finishing with row 4. BO in knit on RS (decreasing 6 sts evenly across by knitting the 6 and 7th stitches together to avoid the top of the purse from stretching).

Fold purse into thirds - the Aran panel on top, then the broken rib portion folded in half - to create a completely covered pocket. You will be sewing the side seams while doing a 3-st I-cord up the sides, then the strap, then finishing the second seam, thus:NO,WithTaerT With #4 dpns, co 3 sts and begin “Bind-off I-cord" by: ·\* Knit 2 sts, slip next st to rh needle, pickup a st from the edge of the purse (make sure you take a stitch from each side of the purse), then slip these sts to the Ih needle and k3tog - 3 sts on needle. Slip sts to end of needle to bring 1" st back to tip, bring yarn around back and rep from \* until you've knitted together the side of the purse. Remember to knit-up at a rate of 3 stitches for 4 rows of pattern so that you'll have done 30 rows of BO I-cord.

Cell Phone Sweater
With #4 dpns, CO 15 sts. 1. Knit into front and back of each st - 30 sts on needle 2. Using 2 empty dpns, slip alternating sts onto each needle so that there are 15 sts on each dpn. 3. Place the needles together so that the CO chain edge is inside. Join sts and work one rnd of purl. 4. Begin Broken Rib on the 30 sts as for pocket purse but now in the round: ● Rows 1-3 - k1, \*p1, k2; rep from \*, end p1, k1 ·Row 4 - purl around Work a total of 7 reps of the 4 pattern rnds, ending with the 4" rnd. On next round, k across, decreasing 4 sts evenly across the 30 sts. Purl one more rnd. K 1, BO around to last st, k1. Slip these 2 sts onto one needle and work plain I-cord for 7 rnds, break yarn and wrap I-cord around rh strap of pocket purse and sew to top of cell phone sweater. Tuck in all ends.
