Stash Monster (crochet version) by Alicia Marchant
Of unknown origin, Stash monsters are magical creatures that live in yarn stashes, consuming that yarn you can't for the life of you work out why you bought, and “producing" the yarn you wish you had. Or at least I wish they were.

Materials:
65m (71 yds) - 130m (142 yds) of yarn. Thicker yarn weights will require more, the pattern has been tested up to Aran weight. It is not necessary to use the same yarn for all elements of the monster, but the more similar the yarns are, the easier it will be to ensure you get a suitably tight fabric each time. ·Stuffing
Optional Materials:
· Felt, buttons, beads or other contrasting yarns to create the eyes and mouth
Tools:
Crochet hook at least one size smaller than recommended for your yarn. Darning needle for sewing. Regular sewing needle if you are going to sew felt to the monster
Gauge:
Not important, but a good tight fabric is required so the stuffing doesn't leak Out. Copyright Notice: This pattern is @ 2013 by Alicia Marchant. All rights reserved. Notes:
Stash monsters are not children's toys, as the ears and limbs could constitute choking hazards for babies or small children. I've used English crochet abbreviations; explanations of the stitches used are included on page 3. If you find it hard to work the small number of stitches on the arms, try just putting the hook through the outer thread of each stitch. Stuffing the arms as you go may be easier, particularly if you are making a small Stash Monster. Want to plan your monster? A template is included below for you to try out colour selections and face designs. CopyrightNotice: This pattern is ? 2013 by Alicia Marchant. All rights reserved. Making up:
Attach the ears to the head; sew on eyes and mouth (or glue depending on type and preference). Attach a small piece of yarn so that it hangs out of the monster's mouth (knot the yarn on the inside, and then pull it through to the right side). If you don't feed it nasty yarn, you've no chance of it “producing thegoodstuff. Stuff head and body then attach together.

Stuff arms and feet and attach to the body, or the head if you prefer, it is a monster after all.
