Double Fast & Double Fun Hat
Double your fun by doubling your yarn. Here's a hat 'recipe' with enough variety to keep you interested, yet knits up quickly enough on large needles not to stress you out. Use some of those leftovers from your stash; or splurge on something soft and squishy! Then top it off with one of those great faux fur pom-poms (or get even more creative and make one of your own). Just one requirement HAVE FUN! Pattern is written for an aran weight yarn, and sized to fit an adult (with negative ease for a snug fit). See below for easy 'mods'. The pom poms made in the samples were made using two cylinders to create a 8.5" & and 12" circumference and wrapped 240 times and 320 times, respectively. Mods This hat can easily be adjusted for different weight yarns, or to adjust for size, by simply casting on more or less sts in multiples of 4. If you want to use significantly different sized yarn, you may need to adjust your needle size. Work Brim Section to 4", Crown Section 6" and Top Section 1.75".
