you now have 16 (20, 24) stitches on each needle. Begin working in the round R1-8: purl R9-11: knit Cut yarn and with self stripe yarn; R12-19: purl R20-22: knit Cut yarn and with solid yarn; R23-30: purl R31-33: knit Cut yarn and with self stripe yarn; R34-50: knit Cut yarnand with solid yarn you willknit the heelflapasfollows, working onone side only16 (20, 24)stitches; R1-\*sl 1, $k1^{*}$ rep between \*\* across R2- sl 1, p across Repeat these 2 rows until you have $_{2-2.5^{\prime\prime}}$ heel flap

Turn heel as follows;

R1- k10 (12, 14) stitches, ssk, k1 turn R2- sl1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn R3- sl1, k6 (7, 8), ssk, k1, turn R4- sl1, p7 (8, 9), p2tog, p1, turn Repeat R3&4, decreasing 1 more stitch each time untilall your stitches are used up and you have 10 (12, 14)stitches on needle. Gusset: Cut solid yarn and with self stripe yarn you will now start working in the round again. (NOTE: you willnotice on sock picture thatIhave a row of solid going around my sock at color change. This is because I knit both socks at same time. You will not have this if you are knitting one sock at a time.) Needle 1: Knit acrossheelflap. Then pick up and knit 9sts along side of heel. NOTE: This number wil vary depending on how long your hee flap is Just pick up allthe sliped stitches along the heel flap. Needle 2: Knit across 16 (20, 24) instep stitches. Needle 1: Pick up and knit 9sts along other side of heel, NoTE: You are using the heel needle and you willstart to pick up stitches at the bottom of the heel flap and working up to the heel turn stitches this time. Remember to pick up the same amount you picked up on previous side. Knit remaining stitches to the end of needle 1. Now allof your heel and gusset stitches are one needle and it looks like a horseshoe, and all the instep stitches are on the other needle.

Decrease round:

Rnd 1: Needle 1: K1, SSK, work to last 3 sts K2T, K1. Needle 2: K

Rnd 2: Needle 1 & 2: K

Repeat these 2 rounds until you have 32 (40, 48) total stitches remaining (16 (20, 24) on each needle) FOOT: Knit each round until you are $1.5^{\prime\prime}$ away from the end of your toe. Cut yarn and add solid to finish toe. Toe: Rnd 1: Needle 1: k1, ssk, kto last 3sts, k2tog, k1. Needle 2: k1, ssk, ktolast 3sts, k2tog, k1. Rnd 2: knit around both needles. Repeat these 2 rounds until you have 10 total stitches remaining on each needle. Use Kitchener stitch to graft the toe and weave in all lose ends.

Kitchener:

The 2 lines separating the series of numbers are the front needle and the back needle as you have the sock ready for the kitchener stitch.When you get to stitch 21 and you stillhave stitchs lft on needles, goback to thebeginning of chart to finish.
