Lengthwise Stash Scarf

By Leigh Wiethoff
I used leftover yarn from four projects so I staggered the colors in a pattern based on what amounts were left over (wider stripes for more leftover of that color.) Feel free to play with colors, making each scarf an individual design. Materials: Plymouth Yarn Encore Tweed: 4 colors or your choice of multiple colors of worsted weight yarns fromyour stash Needle Size: US 8 or 5 mm K= knit P = purl St (sts) = stitch (stitches) Cast on 211 stitches loosely with a provisional cast on, I used two colors for this so the stitch block is in green but the edge is in brown. Turn at the end of each row to begin the next row. Colors and pattern stitches I used: Cast on with brown and green - loops on needle in green, edge in brown Green - 4 rows seed stitch Orange - 4 rows garter stitch Brown - 2 rows garter stitch Taupe - 4 rows seed stitch Brown - 2 rows garter stitch Orange - 4 rows garter stitch Brown - 2 rows garter stitch Taupe - 4 rows seed stitch Brown - 2 rows garter stitch Orange - 4 rows garter stitch Green - 4 rows seed stitch Bind off with brown to give edge to match cast on edge. Seed stitch rows: K1, p1 to end, turn. Garter stitch rows: Knit across to end of row, turn. To make the scarf wider, add more rows. This would also make an excellent warm shawl.
