Embroider on the seeds: W /Black & the large craft needle, work one petal only per seed of the Lazy Daisy embroidery stitch below to make seeds all around the unfolded watermelon slice as seen in the photo.

2.) Crochet the potholder together: Fold the potholder in half w /the seeds out. W/Paddy Green: working through both layers, w/ round side up, join in the 1st dc of the right-hand corner. Ch 1, sc in each st across the rounded edge. In the last st on the left-hand corner: sc, ch 5, sc. Ch 1 & turn. Work 8 sc on the ch loop; sc in 1st st after the loop & join. Bind off.
