Easy Chunky Mittens
Needles: Set of US 10 1/2 dpns
Instructions:
Cast on 21 stitches on US 10 1/2 dpns. Join for working in the round. Follow chart for pattern and color changes (carrying yarn up the inside, twisting each round to avoid holes). $M{=}$ Make one by knitting through front and back loops. $\Pi=$ Knittwotogether Before starting row 24, place first 8 stitches on waste yarn, cast on 2 and continue in color pattern. For thumb, transfer held stitches to dpns, join Color 2 and pick up 4 stitches from cast-on (12 stitches) Knit 2 rounds, then k8, k2tog, k2tog (10 stitches remain). Knit 6-7 rounds in black. Decrease as follows: [k2tog, k1] 2 times, k2tog twice. Next round, k2tog around. Break yarn and draw through loops. Weave in ends, make another mitten and have a snowball fight! :-D
