Falling Leaves Scarf

Pattern is written in U.s. terms.
Abbreviations:
ch(s)- chain(s) trc- triple (treble) crochet hdc- half double crochet dc-double crochet sk- skip st(s)- stitches sp- space
Special Stitches:
Wrap yarn around hook 2 times before beginning the stitch, insert hook in stitch, pull a loop through, wrap yarn over hook and draw through two loops, (there are now three loops remaining on the hook), yarn over hook and draw through two loops (leave remaining loop of the trc on the hook, which makes a total of two loops on the hook). Working in the same stitch, make a second trc (leave the last loop of this trc on the hook also). At this point, there are 3 loops on the hook. Working in the same stitch, make a third trc (leave the last loop of this trc on the hook also). At this point, there are 4 loops on the hook. Wrap yarn over the hook and pull a loop through the 4 remaining loops on the hook all at once. Complete the cluster by working a ch 1 and pulling tightly. This completes the cluster. The ch 1 at the end of the cluster counts as part of the cluster st and not as an additional ch 1 throughout the pattern.
Gauge:
The gauge for this scarf is not important. It can be worked using a variety of yarns with the appropriate hook size for that particular yarn.
Items Needed:
1 skein of Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable in Sunrise or other worsted weight yarn (Size 4 or 10-ply) H - 5.oomm Hook (or size appropriate for yarn if worsted weight yarn is not used) Blocking pins and block, for best results
Notes:
To make a longer scarf, add additional rows of the repeated rows (see below) until scarf reaches the desired length. Pattern is written for a scarf just over five feet long.
