Materials: eyelash yarn in white or cream; and black; needles size 5.5mm Measurements: approx. 4 % inches wide, and 88 inches long This scarf is knitted entirely in double knitting, which produces a tube of stocking stitch using just two needles. It is very simple, but if you have not tried it before, it may be as well to practice a little before starting, as we begin this scarf with points which may be confusing to begin with. To work double knitting, you simply need to knit a stitch, then slip the next one purlwise with the yarn in the front. Every row is the same, you just need to make sure that you are knitting last row's slipped stitch, and slipping the knitted ones. In effect, two rows of this produces one 'round'. Cast on 4 stitches with the light shade of eyelash yarn. Knit into front and back of first stitch, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1 Slip 1, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, Knit into front and back of last stitch Knit into front and back of first stitch, knit 1, sl 1, k1, sl 1, k 1 (Sl1, k1) until last stitch; knit into front and back oflast stitch kfb 1st stitch, (k 1, sl 1) to end Repeat these last two rows, increasing on one side and working the remainder in double knitting until you have 33 stitches on the needle. Continue straight on these until the scarf measures approx. 82 inches At the other end, decrease on one side on every row until 4 stitches remain. Cast off.
