Materials

Medium weight yarn; sample made with Lily Sugar and Cream in Denim Size "l" (5.5mm) crochet hook. Gauge isn't really necessary.

Special Stitches:

(mdcs) I've used a modified version of a double crochet spike stitch to add texture to the washcloth without adding a whole lot of thickness to it. Instead of going through the fabric to pull a loop through, you will instead be going into the left side anchor of the row below your working row. After creating the initial row below your working row, and reaching the point of your mdcs, yo, insert hook into the left anchor (highlighted in the picture above), draw up Ip, draw through 2 lps, draw through remaining 2 Ips. (you don't need to pull the initial Ip up to your working row. The dc will work its way up there by itself)
