3. Slate

This thong is knit seamlessly from the top down. As such, try it on as you knit since nobody's body is the same. If your work in progress appears to be too long length wise, adjust the length of the thin strip in the back. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size.

1 skein Knit One Crochet Two's Pediwick (Size medium takes approximately 145 yards) If substituting yarn, use wool free fingering yarn. Also, consider holding elastic thread with the yarn, as Pediwick is a very elastic. Waistband

CO 161 (171, 191, 211, 231, 261, 271) stitches. Join to knit in round being careful not to twist. Place marker to note beginning of round. Work in Arrowhead Lace pattern for 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) repeats or until desired length for waistband. End with Row 4 of pattern. Divide Front and Back

K13 (16, 18, 21, 23, 23, 28) stitches B0 next 38 (38,43,48, 53,63, 58) stitches K across next 60 (64, 70, 74, 80, 90, 100) stitches for center front B0 38 (38, 43, 48, 53, 63, 58) stitches K to the first side of BO stitches Slip the last live 25 (31, 35, 41, 45, 45, 55) stitches on to waste yarn or holder for center back. Break Yarn.

Front

Join yarn with WS facing to center front stitches. Sl 1 stitch, P to the end of the row, turn. The rest of the underwear will be worked in Stockinette stitch (K RS, P WS) RS: Sl 1, K2tog, K to last 3 stitches, ssk, K1 WS: Sl 1, P to end of row Repeat last two rows 12 (16, 19, 22, 25, 29, 32) times. 48 (48, 51, 52, 55, 61, 68) stitches remaining after.

Cast On for Liner

Using either magic loop or DPN: K to end, PM, C0 48 (48, 51, 52, 55, 61, 68) stitches. Place marker to denote beginning of round. Join to work in the round being careful not to twist. 96 (96, 102, 104, 110, 122, 136) stitches total. K 1 round \*K 1, K2tog, K to 3 stitches before marker, ssk, K1 \*, SM, repeat from \* to \* K 3 rounds Repeat last 4 rounds until 12 (12, 14, 16, 18, 18, 20) stitches remain, 6 (6, 7,8, 9, 9, 10) stitches per side On the next round, holding stitches for front and back parallel, K into the front stitch and back stitch resulting in 1 stitch. 6 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9, 10) stitches remain. Turn. Work in Stockinette st, slipping first stitch of each row, for 2.5 (3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5) inches ending with a WS row.

Increase for Back
