Sock #1: Work the first 46 (50) stitches in pattern, turn work and begin heel flap. Sock#2: Work the first 14 stitches in pattern, turn work and begin heel flap.
Heel Flap (Same instructions for both socks)
With WS facing you, slip (sl) first stitch and purl back 33 (35) stitches. These 34 (36) stitches will form the heel flap. Begin working in heel flap as follows: RS: \*sl 1, knit 1\*, 17 (18) times total WS: sl 1, purl 33 (35) Work these two rows 16 times, ending after a WS row.
Turn Heel:
Round 1 (RS): sl 1, knit 20 (22), ssk, knit 1, turn work Round 2 (WS): sl 1, purl 9 (11), p2tog, purl 1, turn work Round 3 (RS): sl 1, knit 10 (12), ssk, knit 1, turn work Round 4 (WS): sl 1, purl 11 (13), p2tog, purl 1, turn work Round 5 (RS): sl 1, knit 12 (14), ssk, knit 1, turn work Round 6 (WS): sl 1, purl 13 (15), p2tog, purl 1, turn work Round 7 (RS): sl 1, knit 14 (16), ssk, knit 1, turn work Round 8 (WS): sl 1, purl 15 (17), p2tog, purl 1, turn work Round 9 (RS): sl 1, knit 16 (18), ssk, knit 1, turn work Round 10 (WS): sl 1, purl 17 (19), p2tog, purl 1, turn work Round 11 (RS): sl 1, knit 18 (20), ssk, knit 1, turn work Round 12 (WS): sl 1, purl 19 (21), p2tog, purl 1, turn work All stitches should be worked now and there should be 22 (24) stitches on the needles.
Gusset and Foot (Same instructions for both socks except where stated)
If you had switched to a single needle while working the heel flap, divide the 22 (24) stitches onto two needles (11 (12) each), then proceed as follows: RS: sl 1, knit 9 (11) stitches (now on needle 3 again), then knit 10 (12) stitches (now needle 4 again - the break between needle 3 and 4 will mark the start of a new row until toe shaping. With needle 4, pick up 16 stitches along heel flap (pick up stitches in slipped edge stitches), then work “Sock #1”’ or "Sock, #2” pattern as explained below over 34 (36) stitches of instep, then pick up 16 stitches on other side of heel flap then work 10 (12) stitches on needle 3.
Foot Instructions
Continue in pattern as follows to decrease gusset: Decrease row: k to last three stitches before instep, k2tog, k1; work “Sock #1” or “Sock, #2" as explained below over 34 (36) stitches; k1, ssk, k to end of row. Copyright @ Verybusymonkey 2011

Sock #1
Leg, 68-st size: Work 4-stitch repeat (highlighted in green) of Clue #3A Chart across first 20 stitches of instep, work remaining 14 stitches of chart (stitches numbered 7-20). Leg, 72-st size: Work stitch numbers 1-2 (highlighted in orange) once, then work 4-stitch repeat (highlighted in green) of Clue #3A Chart across next 20 stitches of instep, work remaining 14 stitches of chart (stitches numbered 7-20).
Sock #1
Leg, both sizes: Work first 14 stitches in Clue #3B Chart, work remaining 20(22) stitches in 4-stitch repeat (highlighted in green). OPTIONAL: Placing markers in-between the 4-stitch repeat section and the last 14 stitches of instep may be very useful. oot pattern to desired length, knit the sole stitches on needle 4 one more time.
