Materials Needed:

Needles - US size 8 - 16" circulars and one set of size 8 double pointed For each pair - 100 yards of variegated bulky & 100 yards of solid bulky. I used Crystal Palace Iceland 3.5 sts per inch

Notes:

Use long tail cast on, leaving about $12^{\circ}$ extra for use in seaming the bottom of the boot when finished Garter in-the-round - purl one round, knit one round, repeat SSK - slip stitch as if to purl, slip stitch as if to purl, knit those two stitches

Let's go...

Using circular needles and variegated yarn CO 66 stitches. PM and join yarn without twisting. Round 1 - Purl Round 2 - Knit Repeat garter in-the-round pattern for 15 rounds. You will end on a purl row. Join solid yarn. Round 16 - Knit Round 17 - P1, knit to last stitch, P1 Round 18 - repeat round 16 Begin decrease rounds Round 19 - P1, K29, K2tog, P2, SSK, K29, P1 Round 20 - K1, K28, K2tog, P2, SSK, K28, K1 Round 21 - P1, K27, K2tog, P2, SSK, K27, P1 Round 22 - K1, K26, K2tog, P2, SSK, K26, K1 Repeat decreasing in this manner remembering to knit or purl the first and last stitch of each round AND switching to double pointed needles when needed, UNTIL you have 31 stitches remaining. Next round - P1, K to last stitch, P1 Next round - Knit Join variegated yarn again and begin cuff.\* Cuff round 1 - Purl Cuff round 2 - Knit Repeat garter in-the-round pattern for a total of 12 rounds (round 12 should be knit) Bind of VERY loosely (or use larger size needles to bind off) Weave in ends, turn boot inside-out and seam the sole using the tail from cast on. \*You can do cuff in K1P1 rib for a different look
