Partial skein DMC Coton Perle size 5 - red 1.5 mm metal crochet hook
Headband:
Chain 25 or sufficient to go around head. Join with slip stitch. Chain 1. Work 2 rounds of SC 24, joining with slip stitch. [Skip 1, SC 4] 4 times. Join with slip stitch. Holes for antlers & shaping for crown: SC 6, Ch 10, Skip 2, SC 8, Ch 10, Skip 2, SC 2. Join with slip stitch. SC to loop. SC in hole made by loop working around thread. Turn. SC to other loop. SC in loop as before. Turn. Skip 1 stitch, SC to 1 stitch before loop. SC in loop. Turn. Work straight for 2 rows, ending each row with SC in loop. Decrease both sides until 1 stitch remains in centre. Work 3 rows straight, always ending each row with SC in loop. Increase both sides until 8 stitches, including SC in loop in count.
Finishing:
Slide work over loops until working row is next to last headband row. Join working row to headband row with SC. Finish off.
Work in ends.
