Forever With Hope: A Knitting Pattern Inspired by 'The Walking Dead'

Forever with Hope

Pattern illustration

Andrea and Amy are two sisters who, separated by a generation, were raised with different values. Though absence made the two virtual strangers, they were sisters in the truest sense, protecting and helping each other through the worst struggles imaginable, the apocalypse itself. Though their time together is short, you can see the deep bond of two sisters who understand the importance of sisterly love, and realize its importance when all else fails.

Fishing for Hope is a yarn dyed by Bohemia Fibers, based on this stillfrom the AMC series "The Walking Dead". And this is my way of expressing the photo in my knitting. The cables represent the infinity of love - not even death can stop love. The love of sisters is an especially strong bond, and is strongly portrayed with Andrea and Amy. The ripples in the cowl represent not only the water, but the ups and downs that are life. Not unlike the cables anchoring the ripples in this cowl, love also anchors us in times of trouble, keeping us grounded and intertwining our lives with those around us. These thoughts are what inspired my Forever With Hope cowl pattern.
