Super Awesome Vegan Handknits

Pattern illustration

These fingerless mitts come in two styles: short and sporty fingerless gloves to keep the essentials warm, or elbow-length armwarmers to add a little bit of punk to your favourite t-shirt and jeans. The mitts begin with a ribbed cuff, knit in the round. Stitches are bound off and then picked up to begin the crochet section. There is a hole for the thumb, and shell edging (which can be omitted if desired) for a little bit of daintiness. I have used simple single crochet in joined rounds throughout, but the pattern can easily be adapted to accommodate other stitches. Measurements (opera): Circumference at elbow - 25.5cm/10"; total length - 38cm/15" (shorties): Circumference at palm - 28.5cm/8.5"; total length - 16.5cm/6.5" $\circledcirc$ 2009 Christabel Seneque This pattern may be used for gift knitting and charity purposes, but not for personal profit.
