Rumor has it! Knee high socks by # Idiosyncratic # Fleurtje-Eliza Designs

Size: baby size M; height: 7 inches or 18 cm; length of foot: 4.5 inches or 11 cm. Adult size is in parentheses. Needed material: 1 skein (50 gr.) of sock yarn Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi); dpn needles US size 4 or 3.5 mm; a tapestry needle (adult size: 3 skeins). I used Zareska Maris. Abbreviations: K = knit; St or sts = stitch or stitches; P = purl; Dpn needles = double pointed needles; C.O. = cast on; Yo = yarn over. Cuff C.O. 40 sts (adult size: 56 sts). Round 1 - 8: \* k2, p2 \* (adult size: make that round 1 - 16); Round 9: \* yo, k2, pass yarn over over both knit stitches, p2, k2, p2\*; Round 10: \* k2, p2 \*; Round 11: \* k2, p2, yo, k2, pass yarn over over both knit stitches, p2 \*; Round 12: \* k2, p2 \*; Repeat rounds 9 - 12 8 times (adult size: 16 times or perhaps more if you like). Round 13: \* yo, k2, pass yarn over over both knit stitches, p2, k2, p2\*;
Heel
Last purled st from last round is the first st of 20 sts (adult size: 28 sts) that will form the upper part of the foot. Therefore continue to k like this: Round 14: p1 (again: that is the last stitch from the round before), (k2, p2) 4x (adult size: 6x), k2, p1, k20 (adult size: k 28); Round 15: p1, (k2, p2, yo, k2, pass yarn over over both knit stitches, p2) 2x (adult size: 3x), k2, p1, k20 (adult size: k 28); Round 16: p1, (k2, p2) 4x (adult size: 6x), k2, p1, k20 (adult size: k 28); Round 17: p1, ( yo, k2, pass yarn over over both knit stitches, p2, k2, p2) 2x (adult size: 3x), yo, k2, pass yarn over over both knit stitches, p1, k20 (adult size: k28). Keep knitting according to this pattern with the first 20 sts (adult size: 28 sts) for the upper part of the foot. With the other 20 sts (adult size: 28 sts) first you will knit the heel as you would usually do. In my case that is the Dutch heel or short row heel. Secondly, the other 20 sts (adult size: 28 sts) are for the sole. So continue to work in this pattern (row 14 - 17).
Foot
Repeat rounds 14 - 17 until required length is reached, make sure you end with row 15 or 17. In my case that is 3.5 inches or 8 cm, or after 61 rounds. Toe Knit the toe as you would normally do. In my case: I knit again a Dutch heel. This time with the upper part of the foot. After completing it, I close the toe using the Kitchener stitch. Don't forget to weave in loose ends. After you made this Rumor has it! socks I would love to see your results. So please show them on Ravelry. Enjoy making this knitwear!
